Memorial Service Friday For Oak Ridge Drowning Victim
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There is a visitation Thursday night and memorial service on Friday for a young boy who drowned at a friend's birthday party last Friday.
Nicholas Janzen, 6, was pulled from the pool at Oak Ridge Country Club in Hopkins on Friday.
In a statement, his family offered support to the lifeguards who tried to save him as well as the family throwing the party and others at the country club that night. It's still not clear how the accident happened.
Nicholas was a kindergartner at Breck School in Minneapolis. His family says he loved soccer, reading stories with his mom and the color yellow.'
Thursday night's visitation goes from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Washburn-McReavy Hillside Chapel in Minneapolis. His funeral will be held Friday afternoon.
