Memorial Playground For Murdered Sisters Reaches Fundraising Goal
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A memorial playground for three sisters killed by their father in western Wisconsin has reached its fundraising goal thanks to the sale of their former home.
Amara, Sophie and Cecilia Schaffhausen were killed in their River Falls, Wisconsin, home two-and-a-half years ago.
The house has since been demolished.
Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union donated the money from the sale of the lot to the Tri-Angels Playground.
The donation helped the family reach its $500,000 goal to build a universally accessible playground.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for June. The park should be ready for families to enjoy this fall.
