Meetings Slated On N.D.-To-Wis. Oil Pipeline
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- A Canadian pipeline company is holding meetings this week in North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin on a proposed pipeline designed to move crude out of western North Dakota's booming oil patch.
Calgary, Alberta-based Enbridge Energy is proposing a 610-mile Sandpiper pipeline from Tioga to Superior, Wis.
The first meetings on the $2.5 billion project are slated for Monday in Minot and in Superior, Wis. Other meetings are scheduled in Stanley, Devils Lake and Grand Forks in North Dakota and in Clearbrook, Park Rapids, McGregor and East Grand Forks in Minnesota.
Officials say the pipeline could transport 225,000 barrels of oil daily to a hub in Clearbrook, Minn. and 375,000 barrels per day to the terminal in Wisconsin.
The company says the project is slated for completion in 2016.
