Meetings Set On Reducing Nutrients In Minn. Waters
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Regulators are holding a series of open houses around Minnesota to give people the chance to review and comment on a proposed statewide strategy for reducing phosphorus and nitrogen escaping into surface and groundwater.
The statewide plan aims to get government agencies and groups working together to increase efforts to reduce nutrients entering Minnesota waters and those flowing downstream.
The meetings kick off at 3 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency in St. Paul.
They're also scheduled for Tuesday at the Department of Natural Resources in New Ulm, Nov. 26 at the county government center in Willmar, Dec. 3 at the St. James Hotel in Red Wing, Dec. 4 at the county services building in Fergus Falls and Dec. 10 at the MPCA office in Duluth.
