Meet Jeff Locke, The Vikings New Punter
MANKATO, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Vikings continue their work in Mankato, and while most rookies fight for a spot on the team or for playing time, one already knows he's the man at his position.
The question is, "Can he deliver?"
The most interesting position within the team right now is one that isn't talked about much.
Jeff Locke's replacing Chris Kluwe. He's from UCLA with a big leg and an impressive resume. He's got a way to deal with the pressure of the position.
"Not thinking about the pressure, and don't focus on what's going on with the line in front of you," he said. "You just focus on your technique."
The punter is also the holder for field goals, another intense position.
"We have a lot of talent on this team," he said.
As a sixth-round draft pick, he was quite the find for the Vikings.
