Mechanical Issue Shuts Down LRT In Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials said a mechanical issue has forced light rail transit to shut down in part of Minneapolis and commuters should expect significant delays Tuesday morning.
Drew Kerr with Metro Transit said the Blue Line of light rail transit had to be shut down at Lake Street, and buses have been brought into replace trains between the stations at 46th Street in Minneapolis and Terminal 2 at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Kerr said there will be significant delays as crews work to repair the issue. Kerr said the issue involves power lines that go overhead and connect to the trains.
