Mass. ME Confirms Identity Of MN Victim In May Crash
BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (AP) -- The Massachusetts medical examiner has confirmed the identity of the victim of a fiery car crash in Belchertown last month.
Officials said Thursday that 26-year-old Ashley Goetz died May 14 when her car struck a utility pole and burst into flames on Route 202.
Goetz's parents had previously confirmed that their daughter was the lone occupant and authorities had tentatively identified her as the victim.
Goetz, of Eagan, Minn., was a graduate student in the University of Massachusetts master of fine arts fiction writing program.
