Marriage Amendment Signs Defaced In West St. Paul
WEST ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) - The debate over the marriage amendment is turning ugly in one West St. Paul Neighborhood.
Resident Paul Tompkins says some of his "Vote 'Yes'" signs for the marriage amendment were stolen, while others were defaced with vulgar language of a threatening and intimidating nature.
Tompkins says was shocked by the vandalism and theft.
"It's just that people need to be tolerant, you know. We all have our views, and we decide these at the ballot box, not like this," Tompkins said.
If the marriage amendment passes on the November ballot, it would legally define marriage between one woman and one man.
