Mark Rosen's Favorite Fair Food: Icy Cool Malts
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- This week, WCCO's anchors are taking a look behind the scenes at how their favorite State Fair foods are being prepared.
The first person to take a closer look is Mark Rosen, and he went into the cool air of the dairy building, where they make those delicious malts.
Rosen said he felt like he'd died and gone to heaven when he saw how they literally drove vanilla and chocolate malt ice cream in by forklift.
Workers there said they go through roughly 14,000 gallons of ice cream and malt mix during the 12 days of the fair, and thousands upon thousands of berries.
Strawberry is the most popular flavor, according to the fair's dairy workers.
Check out what else Rosen learned in the video above.
