March Storm Dumps Up To Foot Of Snow In SE Minn.
ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) — Parts of southeastern Minnesota have received as much as a foot of snow, causing dozens of school districts to close and prompting others to delay their starts.
The National Weather Service says Spring Valley received 12.5 inches of snow. Harmony got 11.5 inches, Minnesota City received more than 10 inches, Dodge Center got 9 inches and Rochester had 8.7 inches.
Dozens of schools in those areas were shut down Monday because of travel conditions. Others delayed their openings by two hours.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says road conditions are difficult throughout the southeast corner of the state.
