Maple Grove Displaying Local Art This Summer
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Locally made art will be popping up all over Maple Grove this summer, and there's a way for you to get involved.
The art installations will be featured in windows all over the city, and the opening reception for the interactive installation will be on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes.
Maple Grove received a $15,000 grant for the installation from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council.
It will be on display at the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes, Fountains at Arbor Lakes, Hennepin County Library-Maple Grove, Arbor Lakes Senior Living, Maple Grove Government Center and the Maple Grove Arts Center.
The project will run through August 6.
The concept came from Cheryl Walker, a Los Angeles-based artist originally from Minnesota.
The Maple Grove Arts Center is seeking volunteers to participate in the project. For more information, click here or call 763-250-1016.
