Many Flights Cancelled At Minneapolis Airport
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) -- While the huge blizzard bearing down on the Midwest is largely bypassing Minnesota, the state is still being affected.
Airlines have cancelled numerous flights at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Tuesday.
Airport spokesman Pat Hogan says about 100 flights have been cancelled at MSP so far Tuesday. He says that the majority of the flights to and from Chicago have been cancelled and mentioned that Wednesday may be the same way.
Other cancellations include flights to Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Texas and other states to the south and east in the path of the storm.
Hogan said people should check their flight before they go to the airport.
He says the airlines have been warning passengers ahead of time, but he still expects some travelers will be stuck Tuesday night.
Another storm dumped as much as 12 inches of snow on southern Minnesota Monday. Dozens of rural school districts are closed or starting classes two hours late Tuesday due to the blowing snow.
