Mankato Man Caught Trying To Pawn Stolen Snowboards
MANKATO, Minn. (WCCO) – A 20-year-old Mankato man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly tried to sell stolen snowboards to a local pawn shop, authorities said.
A report from the Mankato Free Press said Bradley B. Beckstead was arrested Tuesday afternoon and is in the Blue Earth County Jail awaiting charges of felony theft and receiving stolen property.
Beckstead is accused of stealing two snowboards form Scheels Sporting Goods in Mankato. Store officials were made aware of the thefts at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
About a half hour later, an employee from Pawn America called Scheels Sporting Goods asking about the potential value of the same snowboards. They knew the exact value of the snowboards because they had just been stolen. That caused officials with the sporting goods store to review their surveillance video.
Beckstead was promptly arrested at the pawn shop.
