Man Who Hit Tree, Died In Minneapolis Identified
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man that died after his car hit a tree Friday morning in Minneapolis has been identified.
Authorities said the accident happened just after 5 a.m. near the intersection of 5th Avenue and 10th Street South in Minneapolis. Police said Marcus Tharpe, 30, of Maple Grove, was the only person in the car at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death was ruled an accident, due to head and chest injuries suffered in the crash.
Police said speed was a factor in the crash.
