Man Who Held 3 Hostage At Burnsville Gas Station ID'd
BURNSVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) - The man arrested Saturday for holding two employees and a customer hostage at a Burnsville gas station has been identified.
According to police, 31-year-old Ariel Luis Barnett entered the Holiday Gas Station at 12290 Nicollet Ave. S. early Saturday evening. He had a sawed-off shotgun, which he fired once in to the ceiling before taking two three hostages.
After a brief standoff, police were able to convince Barnett to surrender without incident.
Authorities say no one was injured, and Barnett is currently in the Dakota County Jail awaiting formal charges that should be filed by noon on Tuesday.
The incident is still under investigation.
