Man Trying To Get Murder Conviction Overturned
FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- A man sentenced to life in prison for stabbing another man to death after a fight in Fargo four years ago is trying a new route to get his conviction overturned.
The North Dakota Supreme Court last year upheld the murder conviction of Elijah Addai in the August 2007 killing of 23-year-old David Delonais of Moorhead, Minn.
The Forum newspaper reports that Addai's attorney has now filed a post-conviction relief lawsuit, asking either for a new trial or new DNA tests. The 27-year-old Addai has claimed another man killed Delonais.
Judge Wickham Corwin did not immediately rule on the request by defense attorney Blake Hankey.
