Man Suspected In Ill. Shooting Arrested In Minnesota
CENTREVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- A man suspected in a southwestern Illinois shooting that critically injured an acquaintance is in custody in Minnesota and is resisting being returned to Illinois to be prosecuted.
The Belleville News-Democrat reports that 46-year-old Myron Barber of Centreville is in custody in Ramsey County, Minn., where authorities say he was arrested Friday at a relative's home.
St. Clair County prosecutors have charged Barber with aggravated battery with a firearm in the Dec. 26 shooting at a Centreville boarding house.
Police say the victim was repeatedly shot, including in the neck, and remains in critical-but-stable condition at a hospital.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an argument over money.
Barber doesn't have a listed home telephone number, and it isn't clear if he has retained an attorney.
