Man Sentenced To Over 30 Years For Role In Iron Range Stabbing Death
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 45-year-old Nett Lake man has been sentenced for his role in a fatal stabbing in Virginia, Minnesota in 2014, according to the St. Louis County Attorney's Office.
On Monday, Anthony James Isham received a 363-month prison sentence, which is just over 30 years in prison, in connection to the April 27, 2014 stabbing death of 28-year-old Harley Joseph Jacka. Isham pleaded guilty last month to intentional second-degree murder.
Isham admitted to taking part in the death of Jacka, a Virginia man who was killed at the request of the victim's girlfriend, 22-year-old Janessa Lynn Peters of Eveleth.
Peters admitted to wanting Jacka killed because she no longer wanted to be in a relationship with him. Jacka was stabbed around 15 times to his head, face, neck, and chest. Four knives were found at the scene.
Peters and another man, 42-year-old Bartholamy Jake Drift, also await sentencing after pleading guilty to second-degree murder. Another man, 40-year-old John Edward Isham, a cousin of Anthony Isham, pleaded guilty to aiding an offender and obstructing an investigation. He received a 78-month prison sentence.
