Man Sentenced 17 Years For Burnsville Burglary, Stabbing
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man who pleaded guilty to burglary, arson and attempted murder was sentenced Thursday.
Shaquen Whitfield will serve 17 years in prison for his role in a 2008 break-in at a Burnsville townhouse where the homeowner was stabbed in the head and back 17 times.
According to police, Whitfield, 21, and co-defendant Irvin Cook also set fires around the house to destroy any evidence.
Cook, 20, was convicted and sentenced in May to 29-and-a-half years in prison. He was found guilty on two counts of attempted murder, arson, burglary and for stealing a motor vehicle.
