Man Pleads Guilty In Attempted Murder Of Girlfriend
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 39-year-old Columbia Heights man pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted murder in Anoka County Court on Wednesday in connection with the February stabbing of his girlfriend.
Robinson was charged with second-degree murder and first-degree assault in connection with the incident on Feb. 22.
According to a complaint, Columbia Heights Police were called to a stabbing at about 11:03 p.m. on Feb. 19 on the 3700 block of Tyler Street NE. When authorities got to the scene, they found a 37-year-old woman bleeding heavily from multiple stab wounds.
Police said the stabbing happened after a domestic dispute in the area. Children were in the home at the time of the incident.
Robinson will be sentenced on May 24. He could be facing up to 20 years in prison.
