Man On Parole Charged With Gun Possession
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- A Minneapolis man on parole has been charged with having possession of a firearm while ineligible.
According to charges filed in Ramsey County, 29-year-old Aaron Lee Gant was pulled over by an officer in St. Paul on Dec. 31. Authorities had reason to believe he was in illegal possession of a gun.
The officer reported seeing Gant leave the vehicle with a gun in his hand. The officer fired at Gant, but missed.
Gant was later apprehended by other officers. A gun was found behind a shed nearby.
The Ramsey County Attorney's Office said Gant was ineligible to possess a firearm due to four prior felony drug convictions.
