Man, Officers Identified In Little Falls Fatal Shooting
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- The Ramsey County Medical Examiner has confirmed the identity of the man who died after a standoff with police late last week in Little Falls.
Thirty-seven-year-old Patrick Glenn Jeske, of Little Falls, died of blood loss as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner.
According to preliminary autopsy results, none of the wounds were self-inflicted.
Authorities received a call shortly after midnight on Dec. 30 reporting that Jeske had a gun and was suicidal. Police located Jeske leaving a residence in northeast Little Falls. When officers attempted to stop him, he pulled into a driveway and emerged from his vehicle with a shotgun.
A preliminary investigation stated that Jeske ignored the officers' orders to put the weapon down. Two Little Falls police officers and two Morrison County sheriff's deputies then fired at Jeske. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two officers involved from the Little Falls Police Department were identified as four-year veteran Officer Jon West, 30, and four-year veteran Officer Joshua Burgardt, 28.
The two officers involved from the Morrison County Sheriff's Office were Dep. James Paschelke, 37, who's worked there for six years and Sgt. Shawn Larson, 35, an 11-year veteran.
All are on paid administrative leave while the incident is under investigation, which is standard procedure.
