Man Killed, Woman Injured In N. Mpls. Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man is dead and a woman is in critical condition after a double shooting in north Minneapolis.
It happened at the intersection of Plymouth and Washington avenues around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Police first thought they were going to a car accident but when they got on scene they found two people with bullet wounds.
Police say it appears both victims were shot while in their car at a stoplight, by someone in another vehicle.
The man died on the scene, and the woman was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for surgery. She is currently in critical condition.
The man has been identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner as 37-year-old Frank Early of Minneapolis. The medical examiner said Early died of a gunshot wound and the death has been ruled a homicide.
Police say they don't have any suspects in custody and do not have any information on possible suspects. They are actively seeking the public's help for any information about the incident.
About two weeks ago, another shooting occurred in north Minneapolis with a victim inside of a car, and it, too, was first reported as a traffic accident rather than a shooting.
That victim later died. There is no word if the two incidents are related.
