Man Injured After Jumping From Apartment On Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A south Minneapolis resident and a firefighter are recovering after a fire at an apartment building early Wednesday morning.

The fire started around 3:30 a.m. on the 5700 block of 33rd Avenue South.

Authorities said the man inside the apartment jumped to safety and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. He was listed in stable condition.

A firefighter at the scene suffered minor injuries, but is said to be fine.

The apartment was destroyed, and a few others sustained smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no sprinklers in the building.
