Man Indicted For Premeditated Murder Of His Mother
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A grand jury indicted a St. Cloud man for first-degree premeditated murder and second-degree murder after he allegedly stabbed his mother to death.
Dean Allan Friese, 52, is scheduled to make his initial court appearance in response to the indictment on Thursday. If convicted for first-degree murder, Friese would serve a life sentence in prison without the possibility of release.
According to the complaint, Friese called authorities and said he just stabbed his mother. Officers arrived to the scene at 3:58 a.m. on Sept. 14 on the 400 block of 33rd Avenue South and found a woman lying on the floor with stab wounds to her chest.
Lois Arlene Omeara was pronounced dead at the scene.
Friese was taken into custody and booked at the Stearns County Jail.
Investigators say Friese pulled a medical alarm in his apartment, knowing that Omeara would respond. He grabbed a knife from the kitchen and, when she entered the apartment, stabbed her at least eight times.
He told investigators he thought about killing his mother before the attack.
