Man Indicted For Allegedly Distributing Crack, Pot In Minn.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A California man was indicted Tuesday in federal court for allegedly distributing crack cocaine and marijuana in Minnesota.
Demar Deshawn Powell, 30, is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and one count of attempt to distribute, or possess with intent to distribute, a controlled substance, according to the Justice Department.
Authorities arrested Powell last September after finding that a package at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (shipped from Sacramento) contained about 280 grams of crack and 123 gram of marijuana. Authorities delivered the package to a Bloomington address, where they executed a search warrant and arrested Powell.
If convicted, Powell could face life in prison due to having been convicted of drug charges in the past.
