Police: Man Hurt In Alexandria Stabbing, Wife In Custody
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a man suffered non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed by his wife Saturday afternoon at their Alexandria home in a domestic incident.
The Alexandria Police Department was called at about noon Saturday on a report of a domestic disturbance on 34th Avenue East. The assault victim contacted a relative to report that his wife had stabbed him. The relative then contacted authorities when they lost contact with the victim.
Officers were able to gain entry to the residence and give aid to the victim, who was eventually treated and released from Douglas County Hospital.
Authorities say the suspect, who fled the scene before officers arrived, was taken into custody a short time later after a traffic stop. What led up to the stabbing is under investigation.
