Man Gets Nearly 15 Years In White Bear Lake Robberies

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – A 38-year-old White Bear Lake man was sentenced to nearly 15 years in prison Tuesday in connection with a string of burglaries in White Bear Lake over the summer.

Paul Jinhee Swanson was sentenced to 14 years and 10 months in jail on Tuesday in Ramsey County Court. He pleaded guilty to eight individual counts of burglary in connection with the incidents. Swanson received 71 months for one count of first-degree burglary and 21 months for five similar charges.

According to a criminal complaint, Swanson entered at least six residences in White Bear Lake in August. In each incident, police were called to the scene the homeowner reported missing items that ranged from purses to computers. Residents were usually sleeping inside the home at the time of the burglaries. Swanson also broke into two garages during the burglary spree.

Swanson was eventually arrested in St. Paul while in possession of several of the stolen items.
