Man Gets 5+ Years In Ham Lake Home Invasion
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An 18-year-old man from Andover was sentenced to more than five years in prison in Anoka County Court on Monday in connection with a May home invasion in Ham Lake.
Brendon Michael Crayford had his 69-month sentenced stayed and will be on supervised probation.
According to court documents, Crayford entered a home on the 1000 block of 173rd Lane NE at about 12:45 a.m. on May 17 while the homeowners were sleeping. They woke up, and Crayford ordered them at gunpoint to give him their money. He also took possessions during the incident.
Six days later, an investigator saw a Craigslist ad for a digital camera that matched the camera that had been stolen from the home. A meeting was arranged and Crayford was arrested. During the arrest, officers found a handgun inside his car. Officers also discovered additional stolen items and a second handgun.
