Man Gets 42 Months For Causing Fatal Lakeville Crash, Burglary
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 40-year-old Rosemount man was sentenced Tuesday to more than three years in prison after pleading guilty to breaking into a home in April after causing a fatal crash.
A judge sentenced Eric Wesley Kasprzyk to 42 months behind for two felony counts, the Dakota County Attorney's Office said. The sentences are to be served concurrently.
In May, Kasprzyk pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular homicide and first-degree burglary in connection to a April 1 incident that left a 45-year-old Lakeville woman dead.
Kasprzyk ran a red light in Lakeville and caused a multi-car crash that killed Osah Phetsarath. He then ran from the scene, discarded his clothes, and broke into a townhome.
Investigators said Kasprzyk was under the influence of drugs during the crash and the aftermath.
