Man Gets 180 Days In Workhouse For Setting Church On Fire
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 19-year-old Maplewood man was sentenced Thursday to serve 180 days in the Ramsey County workhouse after pleading guilty to setting a church on fire last November.
Tou Chai Lee was accused of setting fire to the Faith Alliance Church in St. Paul while his ex-girlfriend was inside it, according to a criminal complaint. Lee's ex had filed a restraining order against him after he showed a pattern of erratic behavior, including criminal damage to property, slashing tires and burglaries.
Lee was also sentenced to 20 years of probation and must pay $9,500 in restitution to the church. He pleaded guilty to first-degree arson in July.
