Man Freed In Fatal Crash Closer To Suing Toyota
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minnesota man who was freed after spending two years in prison for a fatal car crash may soon be able to sue Toyota.
Koua Fong Lee was driving a Toyota Camry when he crashed into another car in 2006 killing three people.
Lee has always maintained he tried to brake, but the car sped off.
He was released from jail after Toyota's acceleration problems surfaced.
Lee's attorney, Brent Schafer, told a judge Monday that Toyota agreed to drop its objection to Lee's lawsuit being joined with another.
The other one was filed by Bridgette Trice, the mother of Devyn Bolton, one of three victims who died due to a June 2006 crash.
