Man Dies Hunting Near Alexandria
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 63-year-old man died while hunting near Alexandria Sunday, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say James Allen Swor of Carlos, Minn. was deer hunting with others on private property in Osakis Township, which is east of Alexandria.
Swor had reportedly shot a large buck earlier and was tracking the deer into a large pine tree grove. Swor and others in the hunting party separated while attempting to locate the deer. After a period of time, one of the others found Swor on the ground, unresponsive.
CPR was initiated, emergency personnel arrived, but Swor was pronounced deceased on scene.
The cause of the death does not appear to be suspicious and is believed to be related to a previous medical condition.
