Man Charged With Stomping On Pregnant Ex's Stomach
ANOKA, Minn. (WCCO) -- A 28-year-old man has been charged with stomping on his pregnant ex-girlfriend's stomach in an attempt to kill her unborn child.
According to the criminal complaint filed in Anoka County, Kenneth Turner went into the victim's apartment in Fridley last Friday.
The complaint says Turner argued with his ex-girlfriend about their relationship before assaulting her over the course of three hours.
"This type of criminal behavior is shocking and will be dealt with severely if these allegations are proven," said Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo.
According to the complaint, Turner kicked, punched, struck and choked the victim repeatedly, ordered her to lie back on the bed and then stomped on her stomach with both feet.
The complaint says Turner told her she didn't deserve the baby. He said he intended to kill the unborn child, the complaint says.
The victim was found with bruises and abrasions all over her body. The complaint says officers also noted she experienced vaginal bleeding and pain in her abdomen.
Turner has been taken into custody and faces charges of first-degree attempted murder of an unborn child as well as domestic assault.
Turner was being held on $500,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court in May.
