Man Charged With Murder In Drug Overdose Death
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man is charged with third-degree murder in connection to a case where a woman died from a drug overdose in Inver Grove Heights, Minn.
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said that in September 2010, Dennis Rivers supplied Heidi Hanson with the drugs that ultimately lead to her death.
Rivers, 28, of St. Paul, allegedly brought cocaine and methadone to Hanson's house. She took them and died.
"The use of illegal drugs can have deadly consequences," said Backstrom in a press release, "especially if multiple illegal drugs are used as occurred in this instance."
Rivers was arrested on Tuesday. He will make his first court appearance on Thursday in Hastings, Minn.
