Man Charged With Driving Scooter Into Parked Car While Drunk
LAKEVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- A man faces criminal charges after allegedly crashing a scooter into a parked car and leaving the scene.
According to the criminal complaint, police were summoned to the Queen Anne Mobile Home Community in Lakeville on Monday afternoon. A witness reported that 46-year-old Luther Allen Morgan was riding a gas-powered scooter and hit a parked car.
Police made contact with Morgan and found that he was swaying back and forth and appeared intoxicated. He denied having ridden the scooter, and said he had only had two drinks made of vodka and Mountain Dew.
Morgan, who has been convicted of DWI or had his license revoked for alcohol-related incidents four times since 2005, failed the breathalyzer test. The charges state he had a blood alcohol content of 0.19.
He is charged with two counts of first-degree driving while impaired.
