Man Charged In Home Invasion, Sexual Assault
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- A 24-year-old-man was charged Friday in connection with an Aug. 26 home invasion and robbery where a woman was also sexually assaulted.
Kimanie Markeys Carter was charged with five felony counts in connection with the incident, including first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of first-degree aggravated robbery and two counts of first-degree kidnapping.
According to a criminal complaint, a married couple was returning to their St. Paul apartment at about 3:30 a.m. on the 1700 block of Norfolk Avenue. They were approached by three men at an entry door, and one man with a gun told them "give us everything you have."
The men forced the couple into their apartment. Two of the suspects forced the 54-year-old male victim to drive them to a bank ATM and withdraw $500 to give them, according to the complaint.
The complaint states Carter stayed in the apartment with the man's 53-year-old wife and allegedly raped and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.
The men were arrested later that morning after police were responding to a home invasion incident in south Minneapolis.
Carter faces more than 100 years in prison and up to $175,000 in fines if convicted.
