Man Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Teen Outside Of Mpls. Church
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minneapolis man is charged with second-degree murder in the death of teen outside of a north Minneapolis church in October.
The Hennepin County Attorney's Office says 20-year-old Jontrel Marquise Bolden is accused of shooting 19-year-old Elija Larkin several times outside of New Bethel Baptist Church on the night of Oct. 14.
Police say the killing started as an argument between the two after they both stepped off of different city buses. Security camera footage backs up witness statements that Bolden pulled out a handgun and fire about six shots at Larkin. The victim then went inside of the church and collapsed.
Bolden was captured by law enforcement in Chicago earlier this month. He is also charged with the crime of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
His bail was set at $1 million. His next court date is Dec. 18.
