Man Charged In Dec. 10 Homicide
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 22-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the Dec. 10 shooting death of Mario Combs.
According to the criminal complaint, Richard Antwon Mayes-Lindsay, of Minneapolis, was playing a dice game with the victim and another man when a dispute began over money.
Police say Mayes-Lindsay went to the other man's house to continue the argument. The man wouldn't come outside to talk with Mayes-Lindsay but reported to police that he heard four to five gun shots outside his home.
Later that day, the man and Combs went to Mayes-Lindsay's home to discuss the argument. According to the complaint, Mayes-Lindsay punched the man in the face and pulled out a handgun. While the man attempted to wrestle the gun away from Mayes-Lindsay, someone yelled out that the cops were coming.
Police say the man started walking away when he saw Mayes-Lindsay point the gun at Combs and fire several times. Combs was pronounced dead at the scene and shortly thereafter, police arrested Mayes-Lindsay.
He is currently in custody with a bail set at $1 million.
