Man Charged In Crash That Killed Woman On Eagan Highway
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 24-year-old Minneapolis man has been accused of causing a two-vehicle crash in Eagan that killed a woman, the Dakota County Attorney's Office announced Monday.
Bashir Ahmed Abdulahi was charged with one count of careless driving in connection tot eh crash, which occurred on Sept. 12, 2012 at the intersection of Highway 55 and Highway 149.
On the day of the incident, Abdulahi was driving a Dodge Caravan that crashed into the Mini Cooper, which seriously injured passenger Sandra Sechen Brodin, 68, of Lakeville. She later died at Regions Hospital.
"Our deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Sandra Brodin for their great loss," said Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom.
Backstrom said this is the 10th case of careless driving involving a death without the driver being impaired since 2006 in Dakota County.
Abdulahi was charged by summons and his first court appearance has not been scheduled.
