Authorities: Man Arrested With 33 Pounds Of Pot In Central MN
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- Authorities say they've arrested an Arizona man who was transporting 33 pounds of marijuana on an Amtrack train in central Minnesota.
On Jan. 24, the Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force arrested Jason Alan Folland, of Tucson, Ariz.
Earlier, investigators received an anonymous tip that he would be traveling from Oregon to St. Paul, Minn. on the eastbound Amtrack train and that he had active felony warrants out of Hennepin County. Investigators were also told that he may be in possession of controlled substances.
Authorities met the 5:15 a.m. train and observed Folland get off the train with a large black rolling duffle bag. He was then taken into custody on his warrants and transported to the Benton County Jail for booking.
Inside the duffle bag, authorities discovered the 33 pounds of marijuana, which is estimated to have a street value of $130,000.
Folland is expected to be charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance.
