Man Arrested For Threatening Grand Rapids Students With Gun
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 19-year-old man was arrested Monday for threatening two students with a gun after a road rage incident at Grand Rapids High School, according to police.
Authorities said the incident happened at about 1:30 p.m. in high school parking lot. Police said two students and the suspect were involved in a minor altercation and when the victims left the parking lot, the suspect followed them.
The two students and suspect were stopped at the intersection of 4th St. NW and Highway 38, which is when the suspect showed a handgun and threatened to shoot the students. The victims fled the scene and reported the incident.
A short time later, officers found the suspect vehicle and stopped it on 14th St. NW not far from Grand Rapids High School. While searching the vehicle, police found a .22-caliber handgun. The suspect, identified as Seth Matthew James Nelson, was arrested and is currently in the Itasca County Jail awaiting criminal charges.
