Man Arrested For Pointing BB Gun At Police
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) – A 22-year-old man was arrested in St. Cloud early Thursday morning after he pointed a gun at police, authorities said.
The incident happened at about 1:41 a.m. on the 3200 block of 15th Street North. Police were called to the area on a verbal argument. When they arrived, police spotted a man later identified as Austin Stirling through a screen door pick up a black handgun and point it at a resident in the apartment.
Officers identified themselves, and Stirling proceeded to point the gun at them through a patio screen door. Before officers could enter the complex, an individual inside the apartment knocked the gun out of Stirling's hand.
Stirling was transported to the Stearns County Jail and booked for second-degree assault against a police officer. Authorities recovered the gun at the scene, which was a .177 caliber BB gun modeled and fashioned to look like a black semiautomatic handgun.
