Man Apologizes After Crashing Golf Tourney For Sick Kids
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A local charity that lost out on a donation when two men crashed their golf fundraiser says one of the men has come clean.
Organizers say two men somehow sneaked onto the course at Edinburgh in Brooklyn Park two weeks ago during the Wishes & More annual charity golf tournament.
They even ate at the banquet, all without paying the $150 per person entry fee.
But after WCCO-TV aired their pictures on the news Tuesday night, one of the men called to apologize. Charity organizers did not give his full name.
"I think he truly felt a lot of remorse," said Karla Blomberg, president of Wishes & More. "He didn't know anything about who we were and knowing what kind of charity we are he was very, very sorry that he did such a stupid thing."
The man has agreed to hand deliver the money he put the charity out.
Wishes & More helps grants scholarships to kids with terminal, life-threatening conditions. The organization says they're ready to move past the golf tournament incident.
