Man Allegedly Bitten By N.D. Zoo Bear Faces Charges
MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a man they say sneaked into the Minot zoo and was bitten by a bear.
Twenty-one-year-old David Shepard is wanted on a felony criminal trespass charge that carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison. Court documents don't list an attorney for him, and a home telephone listing couldn't be found.
Police allege Shepard and another man climbed the Roosevelt Park Zoo fence late on May 21, while under the influence of alcohol. Shepard allegedly stuck his right arm through the bars of the bear cage and was bitten on the hand.
Twenty-three-year-old Cody Kage faces the same charge. Court documents don't list an attorney for him, and a home telephone listing couldn't be found. He could enter a plea June 30.
