Man Accused Of Videotaping Inside Mall Restroom Sentenced
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man who secretly videotaped shoppers in a mall bathroom will not serve any more time in jail.
Twenty-five-year-old Joshua LaValle was just sentenced Thursday morning for "interference with the privacy of a minor." Investigators say he recorded eight people on a cell phone camera, which he hid in a family restroom at Crossroads Mall in St. Cloud.
According to court papers, LaValle went to the mall on Black Friday with his girlfriend. He kept going into the bathroom, saying he didn't feel well.
But police say each time, he was starting a new video.
LaValle was sentenced to four years of supervised probation and 63 days in jail, but he's already served that jail time.
He has to register as predatory offender, and he'll have Internet restrictions.
He can't have any unsupervised contact with children, or go to the Crossroads Mall again.
