Man Accused In SD Teen's Death Pleads Not Guilty
DE SMET, S.D. (AP) -- A Minnesota man accused of driving drunk and killing a South Dakota teenager has pleaded not guilty.
KELO-TV reports that 28-year-old James Harris of Anoka, Minn., pleaded not guilty on Friday to charges of drunken driving, hit and run, and vehicular homicide.
Harris is accused of driving drunk and running a stop sign in De Smet on Sept. 23, hitting two pedestrians. The Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Zachary Eichstadt of De Smet was killed. The second pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.
