Man, 20, Arrested With Modified Pistol In St. Cloud
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Zimmerman man is facing felony weapon charges after St. Cloud police found him with an alleged automatic pistol while responding to a separate gun complaint.
Enrico Antonio Ritchard Howe, 20, is being held at Stearns County Jail on felony weapon charges.
According to St. Cloud police, around 4:11 p.m. Thursday officers received a call of a male walking down the sidewalk holding a gun near 3rd Street and 16th Avenue North.
Upon arrival, a male matching the description given to police ran from the officers.
Police said that officers then created a three-square block perimeter around 3rd Street N., Cooper Avenue, Division Street and 17th Avenue N.
Shortly after creating the perimeter, officers made contact with Howe.
According to police, officers found he was in possession of a firearm while detaining him. The firearm appeared to be a pistol that was modified to be fully automatic.
As police continued to investigate, they determined Howe was not related to the initial call.
Officers then made contact with a 17-year-old male near 8th Street South and Washington Memorial Drive matching the initial description.
The teen admitted to having a BB gun and running from police.
Officers said the teen was taken to a juvenile detention facility where he faces charges of fleeing police and gross misdemeanor weapon charges.
No injuries were reported.
The incident is still under investigation by the CM Violent Offender Task Force.
