Man ,19, Dies In Hunting Accident
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 19-year-old man died Saturday morning while hunting geese after a gun accidentally discharged and struck him, Renville County police said.
The accident happened around 9:40 a.m., when police responded to a 911 call that reported a man had been shot a half mile north of Danube, Minn. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the man dead with a single gunshot wound in his body. He was the only one hurt, police said.
Renville County Sheriff Scott Hable said the group was hunting geese together when one of their guns accidentally discarded and hit the victim.
The victim's name will be released when his family knows of his death.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
