Man, 19, Charged In Spring Lake Park Motel Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police are searching for a suspect who they believe is responsible for the shooting at a Spring Lake Park hotel last week, according to court documents filed on Wednesday in Anoka County Court.
Pierre Tyshuan Henderson, 19 of Brooklyn Park, was charged with two counts of aiding and abetting first-degree attempted murder, aiding and abetting first-degree assault and aiding and abetting second-degree assault in connection with the incident.
Authorities were called to the Hi Way House Motel on County Road 10 in Spring Lake Park last Friday afternoon on a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they entered a room at the motel and found a man later identified as 20-year-old Marcus Hallmark on the floor. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to a criminal complaint.
A 19-year-old woman and 20-year-old man were also inside the room at the time of the shooting, the complaint states. The woman told police she thought the men who entered the room were friends of Henderson, her ex-boyfriend.
Three men entered the room, one with a gun, and were prepared to shoot Hallmark because Henderson was upset with the female over their relationship and they had had arguments about it, according to the complaint.
When the men entered the room, the woman ran to the bathroom for safety. Shots rang out, then the men opened the bathroom door and shot at her before fleeing the scene. The woman later told police that Henderson was one of the three men who went into the room during the shooting, but that his younger brother was the man with a gun who did the shooting, according to the complaint.
The shooting victim later told police it was Henderson who told the man with the gun to shoot him and the female, according to the complaint.
Henderson is currently at large and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Anoka County Sheriff's Office at (763) 427-1212.
